Japanese Supreme Court Rules in Favor of Common Sense, & Against Coddling Islamic Terrorists!

Listen up, President Obama, Crooked Hillary, and the countless other liberal dim wits who refuse to take Islamic terrorism seriously!

Whilst you stick your bloated heads in the sand to avoid seeing the truth about the so-called “Religion of Peace,” there are nations in the world where the health and safety of the citizenry is more important than numb-minded apple polishing and denial when it comes to Allah and the gangsters of ISIS!

Specifically, as reported:

Japan’s Supreme Court has upheld the government’s blanket surveillance of the country’s Muslim community.

The court struck down the second appeal by Japanese Muslim plaintiffs against what they perceive as an unconstitutional invasion of their privacy and freedom of religion.

A 2010 leak of 114 police files revealed nationwide surveillance of Japanese Muslims. The files revealed that Muslim places of worship, halal restaurants and Islam-related organizations across the capital, Tokyo, were being monitored.

Within a few weeks of the leak, the data had been downloaded 10,000 times in 20 different countries from a file-sharing website.

A group of 17 Japanese Muslims, mostly from Middle Eastern and North African countries, decided to sue the Japanese government for infringing on their constitutional rights.

Mohamed Fujita, a native of Japan who converted to Islam over 20 years ago, is one of the 17 plaintiffs fighting the surveillance.

He told Al Jazeera: “They made us terrorist suspects, we never did anything wrong – on the contrary.”

The Supreme Court finally dismissed the case after two appeals on 31 May.

The plaintiffs were awarded ¥90 million ($880,000) as compensation due to violation of their privacy by the leak.

However, the presiding judges did not make a judgment on police profiling and surveillance tactics which a lower court had upheld as “necessary and inevitable” to guard against international terrorism.

“Necessary and inevitable” as contrasted to the patently stupid notion that “Islam has have nothing whatsoever to do with terrorism,” and the equally absurd idea that Islamic violence can be overcome with “Love,” as postulated by Attorney General Lynch.

Hats off to the Japanese for making the well being of their people more important than offering PC platitudes to appease a global evil dedicated to murder and mayhem!

Obama Armed Muslim Paris Terrorists With Guns From “Fast & Furious” Scandal AKA “Project Gun Runner”

JUDICIAL WATCH — One of the guns used in the November 13, 2015 Paris terrorist attacks came from Phoenix, Arizona where the Obama administration allowed criminals to buy thousands of weapons illegally in a deadly and futile “gun-walking” operation known as “Fast and Furious.”

A Report of Investigation (ROI) filed by a case agent in the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (ATF) tracked the gun used in the Paris attacks to a Phoenix gun owner who sold it illegally, “off book,” Judicial Watch’s law enforcement sources confirm. Federal agents tracing the firearm also found the Phoenix gun owner to be in possession of an unregistered fully automatic weapon, according to law enforcement officials with firsthand knowledge of the investigation.

The investigative follow up of the Paris weapon consisted of tracking a paper trail using a 4473 form, which documents a gun’s ownership history by, among other things, using serial numbers. The Phoenix gun owner that the weapon was traced back to was found to have at least two federal firearms violations—for selling one weapon illegally and possessing an unregistered automatic—but no enforcement or prosecutorial action was taken against the individual. Instead, ATF leaders went out of their way to keep the information under the radar and ensure that the gun owner’s identity was “kept quiet,” according to law enforcement sources involved with the case. “Agents were told, in the process of taking the fully auto, not to anger the seller to prevent him from going public,” a veteran law enforcement official told Judicial Watch.

It’s not clear if the agency, which is responsible for cracking down on the illegal use and trafficking of firearms, did this because the individual was involved in the Fast and Furious gun-running scheme. An ATF spokesman, Corey Ray, at the agency’s Washington D.C. headquarters told Judicial Watch that “no firearms used in the Paris attacks have been traced” by the agency. When asked about the ROI report linking the weapon used in Paris to Phoenix, Ray said “I’m not familiar with the report you’re referencing.” Judicial Watch also tried contacting the Phoenix ATF office, but multiple calls were not returned.

The ATF ran the Fast and Furious experiment and actually allowed criminals, “straw purchasers,” working for Mexican drug cartels to buy weapons at federally licensed firearms dealers in Phoenix and allowed the guns to be “walked”—possessed without any knowledge of their whereabouts. The government lost track of most of the weapons and many have been used to murder hundreds of innocent people as well as a U.S. Border Patrol agent, Brian Terry, in Arizona. A mainstream newspaper reported that a Muslim terrorist who planned to murder attendees of a Muhammad cartoon contest in Garland, Texas last year bought a 9-millimeter pistol at a Phoenix gun shop that participated in the ATF’s Fast and Furious program despite drug and assault charges that should have raised red flags. Judicial Watch has thoroughly investigated Fast and Furious and has sued the Obama administration for information about the once-secret operation.

The Roots of Hillary’s Infatuation With War

THE NATIONAL INTEREST — IN THE early 1970s, Hillary Clinton was a familiar face in the left-liberal milieu she had cast her lot with: a volunteer for the Yale Law School watchdog committee to monitor fairness in the trial of the Black Panther leader Bobby Seale; a worker for Marian Wright Edelman’s Washington Research Project (the precursor of the Children’s Defense Fund); a member of the legal staff of the Nixon impeachment inquiry. In one cause, however, she was mostly absent and unaccounted for: the protest against the Vietnam War. A friend of the Clintons, Greg Craig, told the New York Times reporter Mark Landler that while others in their circle were “heavily involved” in antiwar activism, “I don’t remember Hillary having much to do with that.” Clinton gave two pages to the war in her memoir Living History. She sympathized there with the burden of responsibility borne by President Johnson for “a war he’d inherited,” which turned out to be “a tragic mistake.” Johnson is her focus: the man of power who rode a tiger he could not dismount. On a second reading, “mistake” may seem too light a word to characterize a war that destroyed an agrarian culture forever and killed between one and three million Vietnamese. “Mistake” is also the word that Hillary Clinton has favored in answering questions about her vote for the Iraq War.

Like every Democrat who has run for president since 1960, Clinton sometimes talks as if she wished foreign policy would go away. A president’s most important responsibility, she agrees, is to strengthen the bonds of neighborhood and community at home, to assure a decent livelihood for working Americans and an efficient system of benefits for all. Yet her four years as secretary of state—chronicled in a second volume of memoirs, Hard Choices—have licensed her to speak with the authority of a veteran in the world of nations. War and diplomacy, as that book aimed to show, have become an invaluable adjunct to her skill set. Clinton would want us to count as well a third tool besides war and diplomacy. She calls it (after a coinage by Joseph Nye) “smart power.” Smart power, for her, denotes a kind of pressure that may augment the force of arms and the persuasive work of diplomacy. It draws on the network of civil society, NGOs, projects for democracy promotion and managed operations of social media, by which the United States over the past quarter of a century has sought to weaken the authority of designated enemies and to increase leverage on presumptive or potential friends.

Russia to Release Clinton Emails?

WASHINGTON TIMES — U.S. intelligence agencies are said to be closely watching Russian online blogs and other postings for any signs that Moscow hackers have covertly obtained the bulk of Hillary Clinton’s email messages stolen from her private email server and are preparing to make them public.

A U.S. intelligence official told Inside the Ring that the indications of the email release are being closely watched, although the veracity of at least two postings on the matter could not be confirmed as authoritative.

A State Department official has said Russia is one of at least three foreign governments likely to have obtained the full content of the former secretary of state’s server through covert hacking operations. The other two are China and Israel.

Russian intelligence agencies are suspected of cyberintrusions that obtained sensitive political information contained in Democratic National Committee networks. Last week, reports surfaced that computer networks of the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton Foundation were also compromised, also by Russian hackers.

Russian intelligence is considered to be the most capable nation-state cyberespionage and cyberwarfare power, and its intelligence-gathering operations in the U.S. are said to be going at Cold War levels.

Ann Coulter: This Hidden Fact Predicts Terrorism

DAILY CALLER — How’d you like to be running a presidential campaign dependent on Muslims not acting up again between now and Nov. 8? It’s getting awfully hard for the media to keep being indignant about Trump’s proposed Muslim ban, as long as Muslims keep blowing things up and shooting people.

I’m assuming here that The Washington Post has not already ruled the Muslims who blew up the Istanbul Airport to be self-hating gays infected by America’s culture of homophobia.

It turns out, Omar Mateen, the Orlando nightclub shooter, also wasn’t a self-hating gay, despite media excitement over that rumor. The FBI has now run down every alleged gay partner of Omar’s, searched his phone and computers, and the alleged gay lovers either had the wrong guy or were lying, and there’s no evidence he was on any gay websites or apps.

As a Muslim immigrant explained in a curbside interview videotaped by Tony Vera at the Los Angeles International Airport recently — before she was arrested — “that’s what we do, we bomb people.”

Loretta Lynch’s Private Meeting With Bill Clinton Prior to Release of Benghazi Report

Why Would The Attorney General, Who Sets
The Tone For Law Enforcement, Do This?

FRONTPAGE MAGAZINE — On Tuesday, June 29, 2015 ABC News-15 based in Arizona reported, “US Attorney General Loretta Lynch, Bill Clinton meet privately in Phoenix before Benghazi report.”

According to the report the meeting was not a chance encounter but was apparently an arranged meeting between Bill Clinton and Loretta Lynch on board her government airplane.

The appearance this meeting creates, in and of itself, calls into question the judgment of the Attorney General of the United States – America’s “Top Cop” who sets the tone for law enforcement for the entire federal government and, as a consequence, for law enforcement agencies at all levels from coast to coast and border to border.

And make no mistake – appearances can be critical. This was a message that was repeatedly hammered home by my bosses when I served as a Special Agent for the former INS (Immigration and Naturalization Service).

Let me describe two such instances in order to properly set the stage and provide a bit of context to the meeting between the former president of the United States and the Attorney General.

When I began my career as a special agent back in the 1970’s one of my bosses, a gentleman by the name of Frank Johnson who was the section chief for the Frauds Unit where I was assigned, would hold what were known as “Payday Meetings” because every other Thursday we would stand on line and be issued out paychecks- this was long before direct deposit was implemented. These meeting provided management with an opportunity to inform the agents about any changes in priorities and to provide us with whatever information they deemed was essential to enable us to to our jobs effectively and safely. These meetings also provided agents to inform each other about any information that they might need as they pursued their assigned investigations.

At the conclusion of each of those meetings, Frank Johnson would accentuate each syllable by jabbing his ever-present cigarette in the air as he looked around the room and said, “As federal agents, it was not enough that we never engaged in wrong doing- but that we must never give the illusion of doing wrong!”

We knew that Frank was not just spouting a slogan- because he held himself to a higher standard than he held those of us who worked under him- this is what true leadership is all about.

As for the second incident – I had become an agent just months earlier and was eating lunch at a local restaurant located across the street from our offices in lower Manhattan, when an attorney I had met when I was assigned as an Adjudications Officer or Examiner as those who adjudicated various applications for immigration benefits were known. The attorney had represented several aliens I had interviewed in that earlier assignment and conducted those marriage interviews you likely have seen in various movies about aliens who marry citizens to acquire lawful immigrant status.

I had just order desert at the end of my meal when the attorney who, like myself, was sitting at the counter of the restaurant move next to me to engage in innocuous banter. Suddenly one of my supervisors noticed me as he was walking by the restaurant and quickly entered the restaurant. He walked up to me and whispered in my ear, “Mr. Cutler, when you are finished with your lunch you are to report directly to my office.” He quickly left the restaurant and I quickly headed back to my office and went to his office- with quite a bit of consternation. Clearly he was not happy.

He sat me down in his office and told me that by sitting next to that lawyer in that restaurant, I created the illusion that I would be less than totally objective in investigating the cases that the attorney was involved with. This, he sternly told me, creates the impression of corruption and must never, ever happen again.

I explained that the lawyer had approached me and that I paid for my food and he had paid for his food and that the conversation was brief and had nothing to do about work.

His response was quick and to the point – he told me that simply creating an appearance of impropriety could create enough of a problem to call my ethics into question and in so doing, destroy my career!

WASHINGTON POST’s Moaning Muslim Blows Himself Up

VDARE — With yesterday’s Istanbul atrocity (not tragedy: a tragedy is an event everyone deplores) reminding us how sweet and cuddly Muslims are, I think it is timely to revisit I reported Omar Mateen to the FBI. Trump is wrong that Muslims don’t do our part. By Mohammed A. Malik The Washington Post June 20 2016.

The times being what they are, this is framed as a denunciation of Donald Trump rather than a discussion of the wisdom of encouraging the presence of Muslims in America. The author apparently informed the FBI he thought the Orlando gunman Omar Mateen worth watching.

Donald Trump believes American Muslims are hiding something. “They know what’s going on. They know that [Omar Mateen] was bad,” he said after the Orlando massacre….they didn’t turn them in. And you know what? We had death and destruction.”

This is a common idea in the United States. It’s also a lie… Trump is wrong that we don’t speak up when we’re able.

I know this firsthand: I told the FBI about Omar Mateen

Leaving aside the absurd idea that one single Muslim ineffectually alerting the FBI means the community as a whole is doing what it should to flag its potential murderers the story, carefully read, contains enough information to (so to speak) blow up the propaganda line it tries to advance.

Benghazi Heroes React to Final Benghazi Report

TOWNHALL — Mark ‘Oz’ Geist was working with the CIA and assigned to protect the CIA Annex in Benghazi, Libya on September 11, 2012. When the U.S. consulate came under attack, he was there and did his best to save U.S. Ambassador Chris Stephens, Information Management Officer Sean Smith and fought side by side with Navy SEALs Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods before they were killed. If you saw the movie “13 Hours,” you know Geist well.

Last night on The Kelly File, Geist gave his reaction to the Benghazi Select Committee final report about the attack.

Kris ‘Tanto’ Paronto, who was also in Benghazi during the attack as a CIA contractor and stuck on the roof for hours fighting for his life and the lives of others he swore to protect, gave his reaction to the report this morning on America’s Newsroom.

“From the report, I took from it that they [the Obama administration] was more concerned about political correctness, not offending the Libyans and more concerned about developing a cover story that trying to help us. It angers me and pushes me to speak out,” Paronto said.

New Mexico State University Offering Discounted Tuition to Students From Mexico

FNL — Faced with a declining enrollment and decreased revenues, New Mexico State University has begun a program that is offering Mexican students tuition at less than half the usual out-of-state rate.

Qualifying students from Mexico will now pay an estimated tuition of $4,691 per semester for undergraduate and $3,975 for graduate studies. The rate is about 1.5 times what New Mexico residents pay.

“NMSU has a lot to offer students from Mexico, and we know these students have a lot to offer us in terms of their backgrounds, experiences and diversity,” said NMSU Chancellor Garrey Carruthers in a press release. “I want to thank our Board of Regents, New Mexico Secretary of Higher Education Barbara Damron and others who supported the launch of this program, which began as a notion during a meeting in Chihuahua organized by the Legislative Finance Committee and State Senator John Arthur Smith.”

Marijuana a Cure for Alzheimers? Key Chemicals Help Remove Plaque From Brain Cells

WASHINGTON TIMES — The Salk Institute has a new study that marijuana legalization advocates will be sure to pass around.

As ScienceDaily.com reported on Wednesday, researchers there have found that chemicals in the plant such as THC “can promote the cellular removal of amyloid beta, a toxic protein associated with Alzheimer’s disease.”

“Although other studies have offered evidence that cannabinoids might be neuroprotective against the symptoms of Alzheimer’s, we believe our study is the first to demonstrate that cannabinoids affect both inflammation and amyloid beta accumulation in nerve cells,” the science-news website quoted Salk Institute Professor David Schubert from a research paper he published recently.

“Schubert emphasized that his team’s findings were conducted in exploratory laboratory models, and that the use of THC-like compounds as a therapy would need to be tested in clinical trials,” Science Daily noted.

China Joins U.S. in Navy Exercises Amid Rising Tensions

WASHINGTON TIMES — A contingent of five Chinese warships is set to sail alongside U.S. and allied vessels when the world’s biggest maritime naval exercises kick off Thursday — despite rising tensions and occasional standoffs between Chinese and U.S. forces in the increasingly sharp struggle for dominance in the South China Sea.

The Chinese navy will be participating in the biennial Rim of the Pacific naval war games for only the second time ever.

Some see the move in what U.S. defense officials call RimPac 2016 as a long-awaited olive branch by Beijing to the U.S. and its regional allies, and others fear it is a calculated gesture to further reinforce aggressively sought gains in the South China Sea and elsewhere in the Pacific.

Adding to the political overtones of China’s participation will be a July 12 ruling, right in the middle of the exercises, by an international tribunal on a closely watched Philippine complaint about Beijing’s broad claims of sovereignty in the South China Sea, one of the world’s most strategic waterways.

China will join the United States and 25 other nations in the Rim of the Pacific naval war games, which are designed to improve combat coordination and cooperation among the Asia-Pacific’s maritime powers. They also have become the largest showcase of American naval power in the region.

Judge Upholds Voter Citizenship Checks

WASHINGTON TIMES — Kansas, Alabama and Georgia can demand their residents submit proof of citizenship before signing up to vote even if they’re using the federal government’s registration forms, a judge said Wednesday, delivering a win to states concerned about voter fraud.

The League of Women Voters and the Obama administration had tried to halt the practice, arguing that federal law doesn’t require an extensive citizenship check when people register to vote, and saying the three states were imposing an extra burden on voters.

But Judge Richard J. Leon said that while it may be an inconvenience to require proof of citizenship, and voter registration drives may have to do more work to get folks signed up, it’s not an insurmountable burden — and certainly less so than trying to explain Obamacare.

“The organizational plaintiffs and their members will undoubtedly have to expend some additional time and effort to help individuals,” Judge Leon wrote. “But let’s be candid: doing so pales in comparison to explaining to the average citizen how the [Affordable Care Act] or tax code works!”

Since the voter groups didn’t show a real and irreparable harm, he rejected their request for a preliminary injunction.

American Veteran News 06.30.16

FUNERAL HELD IN MISSOULA FOR WORLD WAR II DOOLITTLE RAIDER — AP — MISSOULA, Mont. — Missoula and America said goodbye Monday to a quiet hero in ground-shaking fashion.

First a B-1 Bomber from Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota thundered northwest to southeast over Sunset Memorial Cemetery and the crowded grave site of David Thatcher, the penultimate Doolittle Raider from World War II.

A B-25 from Seattle, of the same vintage as the one on which a 20-year-old Thatcher served as tail gunner/engineer in the famed bombing raid over Tokyo on April 18, 1942, rumbled in from the northeast. It flew over twice, then circled the cemetery and Missoula in ever-higher spirals into the deep blue summer sky.

The flyovers were a rare honor for an enlisted man in the United States Air Force, but Staff Sgt. Thatcher, 94, was a rare man. His death in Missoula on Wednesday prompted a nation’s salute and obituaries in the New York Times and Washington Post.

Gov. Steve Bullock, a day after his first debate of the gubernatorial campaign with Greg Gianforte at Big Sky, attended funeral services and ordered flags in Montana be flown at half-staff.

“Dave signed thousands of posters and photos over the years,” son-in-law Jeff Miller of Missoula said at a memorial service at Garden City Funeral Home that drew more than 300 people. “People from all over the world sought his autograph. They wanted a part of his history, a piece of him.”

Thatcher’s death left just one of the 80 aviators who unmasked Japan’s vulnerability to aerial attacks four months after it attacked Pearl Harbor.

VA PRIVATIZATION DEBATE TO HINGE ON COMING REPORT — S&S — WASHINGTON — The coming week could be a watershed moment in the volatile debate over privatizing more health care at the Department of Veterans Affairs.

A panel created by Congress to overhaul the VA is expected to release final recommendations July 6 that are two years in the making and will likely include the option of private care for the millions of veterans who now use the federal system of hospitals and clinics.

It will come amid controversial proposals to give all veterans a card to access private doctors and to turn the VA into a not-for-profit corporation. Those efforts to push the department toward privatized care caused near universal blowback from national veterans groups. Unionized VA employees were staging opposition rallies across the country due to fears over privatization in the lead-up to the commission’s VA report.

SICK VETERAN HAVING ISSUES WITH VETERANS ADMINISTRATION — KRGV — SAN BENITO – A veteran is having problems getting assistance from the United States government.

He said he’s sick and needs help. The Veterans Administration is asking him to travel hours just to talk them about it. They want to do that in a video conference.

“I see some veterans that they really need the help. I mean I know I need the help too, but I’ve seen worse than I am,” veteran U.S. Air Force Sgt. Alfredo Lopez said.

Lopez served two years in Libya, Africa. He continues to ask for more medical benefits from the government. These are benefits, Lopez said, many veterans are searching for.

He filed his complaints and wants to appeal their decision.

“’Your back is muscle spasm, here’s some pain killers.’ ‘Awe, there’s nothing wrong with your ear.’ ‘Oh there’s nothing wrong.’ That’s all I heard – nothing’s wrong,” he said.

He got a letter to appear before a judge in a video conference. The problem is it’s in Houston. He can’t afford to travel.

PILOT PROGRAM TO STEER TRICARE USERS TO MILITARY HOSPITALS — MILCOM — A new pilot program will give some Tricare users who are admitted to a civilian hospital through the emergency room the option to transfer to a Military Treatment Facility.

Active-duty patients, meanwhile, may be ordered to make the switch.

The program, announced on Tuesday, will start July 25 and run for up to two years in at 11 Army, Air Force and Navy locations nationwide.

Officials want the moves to save both the Tricare system and beneficiaries money by switching patients out of higher-cost civilian care and into the military system, according to policy documents.

AMERICAN FLAGS DESECRATED AT RI VETERANS CEMETERY — WLNE — EXETER, R.I. — Worn American flags tossed on the ground at the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Exeter has many outraged.

Stan Snyzyk, who visits his father’s grave in Exeter weekly, made the unsettling discovery on Sunday. He took several photos showing American flags seemingly thrown onto the ground and piled up with trash bags behind a storage facility.
Snyzyk posted the pictures on Facebook, that post shared over five thousand times. Dozens commented about the lack of respect shown for the American flag.

“These people fought for this country,” said Snyzyk. “They shed blood, sweat and tears, for every piece of fabric in that flag. My father fought under that banner. And to see them like that is an absolute disgrace and it broke my heart.”

U.S. code dictates flags that are no longer fit for display are to be disposed of in a dignified way, preferably by burning.

Veterans Affairs director Kasim Yarn, didn’t pull any punches when addressing the issue. Yarn readily admitting his staff did not follow protocol when they stored worn flags in a pile on the ground.

“I was speechless,” said Yarn. “Procedures were not followed. These flags of honor were just not treated properly.”

Yarn says the flags were folded and burned in a formal ceremony on Monday.

“To the ocean state and our veterans all I can say is this isn’t satisfactory. I will make sure this does not happen again.”

VETERANS SHOULD ENJOY THE SAME HEALTH CARE OPTIONS AS ALL AMERICANS — NY TIMES — When Senator Bernie Sanders proposed a plan entitled “Medicare for All,” he electrified progressives who regard Medicare as the health reform benchmark. Senior citizens enrolled in Medicare enjoy the security of knowing they can receive quality care regardless of their health or financial status. They have the option to receive care from private physicians and private hospitals. They even enjoy the option of deputizing private insurers to administer their Medicare benefits.

So why does Sanders oppose giving veterans those options?

The problems with veterans’ health care were brought to the fore in 2014, when whistle blowers found that a number of Department of Veterans Affairs facilities were denying care to veterans in need, and concealing those denials to watchdogs in government.

The common sense response of most Americans — and most veterans — was simple: Give veterans who can’t get convenient care from the V.A. the option of obtaining that care from private doctors, hospitals and insurers.

A poll by Concerned Veterans for America and the Tarrance Group of more than 1,000 veterans found that 88 percent agreed that eligible veterans should be given the choice to receive medical care from any source that they themselves choose. And 95 percent agreed that it was “extremely” or “very important” to have the option to seek the best possible care, even if that care was provided by a non-V.A. facility.

U.S. DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS ENLISTS IBM’S WATSON IN THE WAR ON CANCER — IBM — WASHINGTON, DC – At Vice President Biden’s National Cancer Moonshot Summit today, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and IBM Watson Health (NYSE: IBM) announced a public-private partnership to help doctors expand and scale access to precision medicine over the next two years for 10,000 American veterans with cancer.

IBM’s Watson for Genomics technology is expected to help in the department’s precision oncology program by providing information to help physicians identify precision treatment options for almost 30 times more patients than could be previously served.

The collaboration is expected to greatly speed up the ability of VA doctors to help identify precision treatment options for veterans. Scientists and pathologists will sequence DNA for cancer patients, then feed de-identified genetic alteration files into Watson. Watson will generate a report for physicians that identifies the likely cancer-causing mutations and possible treatment options to target those specific mutations through a comprehensive review of existing medical literature – a data-intensive process that has been time-consuming and difficult to scale in the past.

Soon after, the U.S. Air Force veteran silently slid into homelessness.

Middletown Animal Control Officers Gail Petras and Sgt. Nick Baboolal went above and beyond with efforts to provide Chaffee with safety and security while she lived, and with a final resting place in the State Veterans’ Cemetery after her untimely death last month.

The honor detail performed a ceremony that included the folding and presenting of the American flag to the next of kin, a 21-gun salute and the playing of “Taps.”

NURSES, VETERANS BACK INDEPENDENT PRACTICE FOR ADVANCED RNS — MEDSCAPE — A group of professional nursing associations and military organizations held a news briefing yesterday to throw their support behind a proposed rule by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) that would permit advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) employed by the VA to practice “to the full extent of their education, training, and certification, without the clinical supervision of physicians,” according to a statement in the federal register.

The proposed rule was published on the federal register on May 25. The VA has made the proposal available for comment in an effort to increase veterans’ access to care.

To date, more than 44,000 people have submitted comments, more than six times the total number of comments submitted for previous rules, according to a release from the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA).

99-YEAR-OLD WWII VETERAN TAKES TO THE SKIES IN HONOR FLIGHT — FOX NEWS — INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — It’s been more than 60 years since Ced Fowler stepped on board a military aircraft, but recently this 99-year-old World War II veteran took a trip into the wild blue yonder.

For this retired Army Air Corp Tech Sergeant, being around a warbird is old hat.

Fowler got a special flight to honor his service during World War II.

“It triggers a lot of memories that even family members don’t get to hear often times when they get around these aircraft or they get around this era of vehicles,” said Mark Vanzant from Warbird Expo.

Fowler’s memories of his service can be recalled as if they happened yesterday.

He enlisted in 1942 and was assigned to the 314th Air Division, in Guam just 1,600 miles south of Japan. He was in charge of maintaining the radar units on the B-29 bombers in his division.

DOD PUSHES SENATE REPUBLICANS TO GUT VETERANS PREFERENCE — DISABLED VETERANS — Top DOD brass pushed Senator John McCain, chairman of Senate Armed Services Committee, to gut veterans preference for specialized, hard to fill positions.

To accomplish this, Senate Republicans put forth hiring language that would restrict veterans preference for federal jobs to only the first job. After you use it the first time, you lose it forever. So, you better pick the best job you can get. If you guess wrong, then you lose out.

I am highly suspicious of this issue since it seems to have been slipped into national defense spending without much discussion. And, the problem was relayed by high brass within DOD.

Since when do Americans believe much of anything when it leaks out of DOD like a fart in church? This was not an announcement but instead some kind of backdoor dealing.

Does anyone else smell a stinky rat in the woodpile? Since when do we trust DOD to present anything to the American public in an honorable and transparent manner?

KIRK SLAMS VA FOR IGNORING VETERANS CRISIS HOTLINE MESSAGES — WASHINGTON FREE BEACON — Sen. Mark Kirk (R., Ill.) blasted the Department of Veterans Affairs on Tuesday after investigators found that 30 percent of their text messages sent to the department’s crisis hotline for veterans went unanswered.

The Government Accountability Office conducted the review of the VA’s crisis hotline after requests from congress. The hotline, which is supposed to provide support for veterans in distress, has faced criticism from some veterans who say their phone calls have gone unanswered.

Kirk also railed against his Senate colleagues for neglecting to address the department’s issues in a VA funding bill this week. The appropriations bill was blocked by Senate Democrats due to their objections about emergency funding to address the Zika virus.

“Failing our veterans who are reaching out in their time of need is unacceptable,” said Sen. Kirk in a statement on Tuesday evening. “Yet today, instead of passing increased VA funding and more protections for whistleblowers, veterans took a backseat to partisan politics in the Senate.”

VETERAN PETITIONS TO OUST VA AGENT ORANGE DENIER — DISABLED VETERANS — One veteran started a Change.org petition to oust VA Agent Orange denier Thomas Murphy after he was promoted as acting Under Secretary for Benefits at VA.

Thomas Murphy, formerly the Director of Compensation, was just promoted to acting Under Secretary for VBA. Unfortunately for Vietnam veterans, Murphy is a documented Agent Orange denier, and based on his past decisions in contradiction of claims from scientists, burn pit veterans should also be concerned.

In response to the move that has been called “anti-veteran”, Thomas Osmond created a petition to support ousting the denier, Thomas Murphy.

SIGN IT: Petition To Fire Thomas Murphy

Please be sure to sign the petition and get read up on the issue. I cannot figure out how our federal government has devolved to such an extent where public workers are able to actively defraud veterans of their benefits.

But that is where we are at today.

U.S. ARMY VET VIOLENTLY HARASSED BY TEENS ON UK TROLLEY — FNL — A U.S. Army veteran was hit with an onslaught of racial and xenophobic abuse from a group of British teenagers after telling them to watch their language on a trolley car.

Juan Jasso, a former soldier from Texas who has lived in the U.K. for the last 18 years, was commuting on a trolley in Manchester Tuesday morning when he asked the teenagers to stop swearing in front of children.

Instead of quieting down, however, the rowdy teens turned on Jasso, with one saying “F— get off the tram now. Don’t chat s— or get deported.”

Another teen screamed “Get back to Africa.”

LAWMAKERS PUSH TO RESTORE MEDICAL MARIJUANA LANGUAGE TO VA BILL — MILCOM — Days after lawmakers killed legislation that would have cleared Veterans Affairs doctors to discuss and make recommendations about medical marijuana to their patients, supporters are taking another swing at the proposal.

A group of 11 lawmakers are asking the House and Senate leadership to restore the language to the Military Construction and Veterans Affairs bill. The medical marijuana provision was dropped during a conference committee review of the legislation — even though both the House and Senate backed the legislation.

“We feel the failure of the Conferees to include either provision is a drastic misfortune for veterans and is contrary to the will of both chambers as demonstrated by the strong bipartisan support for these provisions,” the supporters wrote to congressional leaders on Tuesday.

Whitewashing Orlando Jihad: Where Do Obama’s Loyalties Really Lie?

BREITBART– Truly, there is no reserve of cynicism vast enough for decent, freedom-loving Americans to fully comprehend the diabolical motivations of President Obama and the henchmen he has running his administration.

It defies even the most dishonest and criminal imagination. It really is enough to make good people seriously question where the president’s loyalties actually lie.

Of course, it is all part of Mr. Obama’s plan to exacerbate those very questions about where he was born and whether he is a closet Muslim — because that automatically turns even decent people into frothing lunatics for dabbling in such conspiracies and innuendo.

His is the lowest, most crass and degrading cynicism and it permeates every action and every statement made by this White House.

The first Clinton administration is already recorded in the history books for its debased, raunchy and utterly disgusting self-adulation and false promotion. The Obama White House is that — only on Viagra.

Obama Considering Ignoring SCOTUS Decision on Executive Amnesty

BREITBART — U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch is looking into options to challenge a Supreme Court ruling that effectively determined a lower court’s decision neutering President Obama’s executive amnesty would stand. The ruling would help to prevent Obama from ignoring U.S. laws and from allowing many illegal aliens to stay in the U.S. without deportation.

The statements from Attorney General Lynch were made during an interview with Reuters. The Reuters writer appears to have confused the ruling, as SCOTUS did not make the decision to block President Obama’s executive amnesty, they simply tied in their decision–which led to the Fifth Circuit’s ruling being left in place.

The Obama administration is looking into whether it can challenge the Supreme Court’s decision to block President Barack Obama’s plan to spare millions of illegal immigrants from deportation, U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch said Tuesday.

“We will be reviewing the case and seeing what, if anything else, we need to do in court,” Lynch told Reuters in an interview.

Breitbart Texas’ legal analyst, Lana Shadwick, discussed the ruling in a recent article. She wrote:

The Breadth of Hillary’s Benghazi Lies

POLIZETTE — A 45-page analysis of the Benghazi Committee’s investigative report released Tuesday by a pair of Republican congressmen lays out in devastating detail the lengths to which Hillary Clinton went to obscure the motives behind the murder of four Americans in Libya in 2012.

The attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and three others on Sept. 11, 2012. Reps. Jim Jordan and Mike Pompeo amassed ample evidence that then-Secretary of State Clinton quickly learned that the killings resulted from a organized terrorist attack.

“Yet, Secretary Clinton and the administration told one story privately — that Benghazi was a terrorist attack — and told another story publicly — blaming a video-inspired protest,” wrote Jordan and Pompeo, who said they wrote their report to highlight what they regard as the most important parts of the forthcoming official report of the House Select Committee on Benghazi.

Why Hillary Is Stalling Her FBI Interview

TOWNHALL — James Comey, the straight-arrow director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, is eager to wind up his investigation of Hillary’s use of an unsecure email system, but he can’t do that until he and Justice Department prosecutors sit down with Hillary and interview her.

Hillary says that neither she nor her campaign have been contacted by the FBI. But that is not true.

Negotiations have been going on for quite some time between the FBI and Hillary’s attorney, David Kendall, who went to law school with Hillary and defended Bill Clinton in his impeachment trial.

Hillary has come up with a dozen excuses why she’s too busy to take time out for an FBI interview.

The strategy she and Kendall have come up with is clear: They want to drag this out as long as possible—if possible until after Hillary is the official Democratic nominee—which will make it harder politically for Comey to recommend an indictment.

Comey is turning up the heat, insisting that the interview be done sooner than later, but it doesn’t look like he will be able to force Hillary’s hand.

Jim Comey and Hillary Clinton are two of the toughest characters in Washington and this has turned into a battle royal.

“Mexico Is Massacring Its Citizens and Nobody Seems to Have Noticed”

BOREDERLAND BEAT — This time it is impossible to look the other way. The Mexican government is normally adept at managing public opinion so the responsibility for the violence and human rights violations ripping apart the country falls on the shoulders of local officials or organized crime groups. But on June 19th that narrative was broken under the heavy weight of the facts.

The press originally reported a “clash between teachers and police” in the town of Nochixtlán in the southern state of Oaxaca. The authorities claimed their agents were unarmed and the protesters had fired on them first. The new U.S. Ambassador to Mexico, Roberta Jacobson, was carefully neutral in her first public evaluation of the incident, stating simply that she “lamented the loss of human lives.”

But during the ensuing days the awful truth has trickled out. Thanks to the reports of journalists on the scene, the Mexican government has been forced to accept that the police were in fact heavily armed. And the evidence now points to the commission of a brutal massacre by federal forces against peaceful protesters. These forces are under the command of Mexico´s President Enrique Peña Nieto and receive significant funding from the United States government under the Merida Initiative.

It all began when a group of rural, elementary school teachers closed a highway that runs through the small, mostly indigenous town of Nochixtlán. They were protesting the government´s neo-liberal education reforms and in favour of the release of two top teacher union activists, who had been taken as political prisoners a week earlier.

‘Wonderful Girls’ Killed by Twice-Arrested, Drunk-Driving Alien in Sanctuary City Virginia Beach

CAPS — In the frustrating patriotic immigration reform effort, one of the hardest things to do is to talk to families who lost loved ones because the federal government refuses to enforce the law. So many senseless crimes have been committed by so many countless deportable aliens that it’s often hard to keep track of them, so frequently do they occur.

Last week, while in Washington D.C. at an event sponsored by the Federation for American Immigration Reform, I met Ray Tranchant, who lost his daughter Tessa at age 16. In 2007, Tessa and her best friend Ali were killed in Virginia Beach while waiting for a red light to change. As Tranchant told me, “They were wonderful girls with bright futures who had done nothing wrong.”

Illegal immigrant Alfredo Ramos hit them while his vehicle sped along at 70 miles per hour. Ramos, who had two prior arrests, one for DUI and the second for public intoxication, had a blood level triple the legal limit, but he escaped uninjured. Ramos was sentenced to 40 years in prison.

Adding to the agony of Tranchant’s tragic loss is that Virginia Beach is a sanctuary city. This means officials never questioned Ramos about his immigration status, and never put him in removal proceedings.

In the 15 years since 9/11, I’ve met and exchanged emails with hundreds of victims’ families. Many of them like Tranchant have become activists. But I’ve yet to meet a single person who understood much if anything about the U.S. immigration crisis before their personal tragedies struck. Certainly, some knew about illegal immigration, and a few might have had an inkling about H-1B visa abuse. But it takes a catastrophe before the victims’ fathers, mothers, husbands, wives and siblings become truly involved.

Advocacy requires time and effort, and it’s understandable when people decide to spend their few free hours in a more immediately rewarding pursuit. But the general public’s overall lack of insight about how harmful and potentially deadly the federal government’s dismantling of immigration law is remains a huge stumbling block to sensible reform.

Become involved. Go to the CAPS Action Alert page here and tell your congressional representatives to support the Interior Immigration Enforcement Act, HR 5102, and the Criminal Alien Detention and Removal Act, HR 5103, two bills that would help save innocent lives like Tessa and Ali.

Zika Vaccines Prove 100% Protective in Mice

FOX NEWS — CHICAGO – Mice given a single shot of one of two experimental Zika vaccines were completely protected when exposed to the virus one to two months later, a promising sign that similar vaccines under development for humans will protect against Zika, U.S. researchers said on Tuesday.

“This is an encouraging first step in Zika vaccine design and pre-clinical testing. This new mouse model should be useful for comparative assessments of the large range of vaccine candidates now being designed,” said Professor Adrian Hill, director of Oxford University’s Jenner Institute, which did not conduct the mouse study but is also developing Zika vaccines.

Separately, U.S. scientists said they have developed a model of the Zika virus in monkeys, a close proxy for human disease.

The studies advance efforts in fighting the mosquito-borne Zika virus, which has swept through the Americas and Caribbean since last fall, and has been linked to thousands of cases of microcephaly, a rare birth defect, in Brazil, as well as to neurological disorders. On Feb. 1, the World Health Organization declared Zika a global health emergency.
