POLIZETTE — One year after tourist Kate Steinle was murdered by an illegal alien in San Fransisco, a drunk driver in Oceanside, California, has pleaded not guilty to a hit-and-run in which she impaled 69-year-old pedestrian Jack Ray Tenhulzen on the hood of her car, according to Fox 5 News.
The driver, Esteysi Izazaga Sanchez, is subject to an immigration hold as well as felony charges of gross vehicular manslaughter, DUI, hit-and-run, and a misdemeanor count of driving a vehicle without a license.
Sanchez apparently drove for a half a mile with Tenhulzen’s body partially in the passenger seat, and his severed leg balanced on the hood of her car. Sanchez was ordered on a $1.5 million bail and has a preliminary hearing set for Aug. 9, according to Fox 5 News. If she is convicted, Sanchez will face 15 years and six months in state prison.
This latest tragedy comes on the heels of an effort by four Republican senators to pass “Sarah’s Law,” which would require “the federal government to take custody of anyone who entered the country illegally, violated the terms of their immigration status, or had their visa revoked and is thereafter charged with a crime resulting in the death or serious bodily injury of another person.”
This law is named after Sarah Root, a 21-year-old graduate was slaughtered by a Honduran illegal alien who was drunkenly street racing in January.
